Karl Dawson
Market Research Analyst
Karl Dawson is a popular color commentator for World Cup soccer on
Univision. He was favored to win a 2003 Emmy, but lost due to hanging
chads.
In the offseason, Karl moonlights as the market research analyst here at
Riya. He's big on qualitative research, including stakeholder
interviews, focus groups, and other time-consuming activities that
require him to sleep under his desk. Bottom line is, if there's
something you don't like about Riya, it's Karl's fault (j/k).
Prior to joining Riya, Karl built databases, designed surveys, and
analyzed policy at the American Institutes for Research. He's also
wreaked havoc on three "UC" schools, including Davis (BS in Psychology,
emphasis in Math and minor in Film Studies), UCLA (MA in Social Research
Methodology), and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
Karl's high school classmates voted him "Most Likely to Fall Down"; he
puts this skill to (sometimes tragic) use in various sports and on the
slopes of Lake Tahoe. He's also a shameless bookworm, film aficionado,
and a sucker for new music and PB & J sandwiches.
